CARE
OF BUCKETS
Our
buckets are sealed
with silicone,
therefore
To insure long life of your container we recommend
the following steps be
taken:
1.
After a days use, empty the container and let it dry.
This insures that the water will not soak into the wood
excessively.
2.
Do not allow water to freeze in the container.
It could break the bands and the seal causing leakage.
3.
If using your container with water in it daily, recoat the
outside with hot linseed oil and inside with very hot paraffin every 6
months.
4.
Store the container away from heat and sunlight to deter
excessive drying.
5.
If you want to use the container for warm water start with cold
water and add hotter water to it. It
is best not to use water over 120 degrees, for the hotter the water the
more wax will melt off the sides loosing some of its sealant.
You may notice a white film or spots on the inside of the
container. This is caused
from the wax and is not harmful. Use
a hair dryer turned on high, blow it on the film and it will turn clear.
Wipe off any excess wax.
Wood and paraffin are porous materials and can harbor disease. Therefore, we will not take responsibility for any medical problems due to drinking from any of our containers.
